Oregon Waterfall

I haven't taken many photos in the last week, so I'm culling through my library for some favorites to post here. This one is of my friend Chris (a much better photographer than I am) taking a shot while visiting us from Cambridge, England for Christmas '06.

I know...although a statement went out today from Kundera saying that it is not true. I am going to look into it more tonight. All I know at this time is that the guy that was allegedly the target has said he doesn't believe that Kundera did it...I don't know...it seems inconsistent with his character, if you read his books, you can see his temper, his disgust, and the idea that it was some type atonement isn't consistent with the writing...it would be shocking, but who knows, those were difficult and horrible times where everyone was forced to see the dark side of their soul...if true, it changes his discussion of Einmal ist keinmal for darn sure.

Did you read Life is Elsewhere?

Here is the first response today -

I love the Book of Laughter and Forgetting even though it infuriated me at one point and I threw it...I could probably read it again. I was actually going to reread Unbearable again just for kicks. See who I start to identify with this time (kind of a soul thermometer for me).

I haven't seen The Lives of Others - I just checked it out and will definitely make a point to see it...
