Neck-high, little duckie.

Snow, snow, snow

Scary Christmas Ornament

Don't mess with this guy. She will cut you when you turn your back and is currently haunting my worst Christmas dreams (she was found in an antique shop on 82nd).

Our son made his first snow-angel Sunday.

Sunday Snowday

My husband took this while out on a walk. It was way too cold to have gone out for a walk, but these snow days are so rare, and we wanted to introduce our son to real winter.

Another Welcome Wagon

Unsure if it's the same person or not, but found this stenciled outside a boutique on Mississippi Ave. "White Hipster MILFS Only"

Mt. Hood

I managed to get this Wednesday, on a clear day in Portland, from the lawn of Pittock Mansion. It was actually quite cold, so I am surprised this guy is sitting there with only a tshirt on.

Wet Leaf

The rains have started again in Portland. All is as it should be, I suppose.

Squirrelly

I have a soft spot for squirrels, despite their reputation of being simple tree rats. This one came right up to me today, sitting at my feet.
And then I noticed that she may have just had babies or may be pregnant? Not sure, so I put a bunch of peanuts out for her.

Portland Tag

Filoli tagged this blog (tagging has been going on a lot in the other blogging community I'm a part of, and I find it interesting to be tagged here).

So. A few random shots of Portland:
Inside Voodoo Donuts

The signed, velvet Kenny Rogers painting in the other Voodoo donuts.

Sign left outside a comics shop near Powell's.

Portland is full of amazing front porches. This one is one of my favorites. It was all I could do to keep myself from knocking on the front door and asking for some lemonade.

Portland is also full of shops selling strong coffee and tasty pie. This one is rhubarb, my favorite.

Portlanders like to decorate for Halloween.

And decorate their dogs for the Rose Festival Kiddie Parade.

An abundance of moss, nearly year-round.

Hi-5 at 1210

This photo is blurry due to my being in a moving car as I took it. Right as I got the window down and camera ready, the light turned, and we had to go. I'm intrigued by the handprint though. Keep Portland Weird.

Oregon Waterfall

I haven't taken many photos in the last week, so I'm culling through my library for some favorites to post here. This one is of my friend Chris (a much better photographer than I am) taking a shot while visiting us from Cambridge, England for Christmas '06.

Olympia Couple

Last year, we had lunch at a quirky restaurant in Olympia, probably the quirkiest city I've visited.

Early Fall

So it starts:

Everyone is out around 6pm, taking in the last hour or so of daylight, knowing soon that it's going to get gray and dreary fast:

A final sunflower:
