Blue Moose

At the Blue Moose Cafe, one can partake in the most perfect $5 lunch in Portland. It's called the "Mideast Peace Platter" and consists of the following: a large ice-cream scoop size portion of home-made, garlicky humus surrounded by fresh raw spinach, red onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and feta cheese. It comes with a couple of slices of your favorite bread. The mix of these flavors in their simplicity and all for only $5 makes this my favorite lunch. Right behind my favorite table is a cubby with the above items.
I haven't forgotten this blog. A few other things are currently going on requiring my attention, and if things work out the way we hope, I'll have scores of new photos to post soon. Thanks to those who've checked in.

Hi Lori,

I was just going through all the comments on my blog and saw the one from you from November asking about the play structure. Sorry, I don't know why I never saw the comment before! Anyway, it was custom built for the other family that lives on the farm here, so I guess it probably doesn't matter much that I never told you that like 5 months ago or whatever.

Just thought I'd let you know. :)

Kindred spirits, indeed. I love Brian Andreas (proof- the quote I have on my blog "banner"). The story you have photographed is one that I wrote down and taped above my stove about 8 months ago.
As for the sandwich. Wow. THAT sounds delicious and inexpensive. I think I'd eat there once a week.
